Hyperaware

Awake, but never fully at rest.
Hyperaware reflects the experience of sensing too much at once — when the world becomes louder, sharper and heavier. The stillness of the figure contrasts with the restless, almost mechanical forms surrounding her, capturing a mind that continues to observe even when the body stands still.
Created from my own experience of living with schizophrenia, the piece is a reflection of heightened awareness, overstimulation and the difficulty of truly switching off.
